Target group

Job seekers with no or limited prior experience in the GMP (less than 1 year) or biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry, such as recent graduates seeking employment, final year students, as well as PhDs and postdocs aspiring to enter the biotech industry.

Program

Day 1

 

GMP and Product Development Stages

Learn about Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and the stages of product development. You will engage in hands-on workshops and interactive sessions, which include an overview of the vaccine production process and an introduction to quality systems. From regulatory requirements to understanding pharmaceutical documentation, this day provides the foundation for your biopharma career.

Day 2

 

Cleanrooms

Step into the controlled environment of cleanrooms and learn the principles that ensure product safety and quality. Through interactive sessions and workshops, you'll understand cleanroom classifications, gowning protocols, and essential environmental monitoring techniques for biotech operations. You'll also learn buffer and media preparation techniques following instructions in the batch record. Practical sessions in a Laminar Airflow Cabinet (LAF) will focus on disinfection procedures.

Day 3

 

USP & DSP for Vaccine Manufacturing

Focus on Upstream and Downstream Processing for vaccine production. From cell culture techniques to the use of bioreactors, this practical day will provide you with the skills needed to gain deeper insights in vaccine manufacturing. You will explore advanced topics such as the principles of fermentation, the role of ultrafiltration and diafiltration in purification processes, and the handling of viral and adventitious agents essential for maintaining product safety and efficacy.
