Single-use Equipment in Biopharmaceutical Processing

In the search for safe and efficient solutions, single-use equipment is rapidly becoming the standard. This course explains the role of single-use equipment in bioprocessing and goes into critical aspects during manufacturing.

Duration

Short description

The course gives participants an introduction to bioprocessing, with an explanation of upstream and downstream processing and final formulation of drug product. In addition, participants will learn about the role of single-use equipment in these steps, including advantages, limitations and regulatory aspects of this kind of equipment.

The course covers single-use equipment in the full range of biopharmaceutical manufacturing, including buffer and medium preparation, cell culturing using a bioreactor, clarification, ultrafiltration/diafiltration (UF/DF) and lab-scale chromatography. The process train in small scale is located in our cleanrooms, allowing course participants to witness the equipment in operation.

Part of the course takes place in cleanrooms and laboratories, allowing course participants to observe various operational steps in small scale and perform some actions themselves. Additionally, participants will partake in Virtual Reality modules and movies allowing demonstration of larger equipment.

This course is organised together with Pall Corporation. Upon registration you therefore also agree with the privacy policy of Pall Corporation.
